It is with profound sadness that the family of Mrs. Rachel Mae Thompson announces her peaceful passing on May 20, 2024, at the age of 94, in her birthplace and lifelong home of Osceola, Arkansas. She was born October 28, 1929, to the late Emmit Williams and Mary Jane Chappman.

Rachel Mae was a steadfast servant of the Lord and a devoted member of Pleasant Grove Community Church, where she offered her service on the Mother Board and the Usher Board since joining in 1944. Her commitment to faith and community extended through her active involvement with the Order of the Eastern Star Organization. Rachel was also a dedicated employee of American Greetings Corp. for over 30 years.

The Thompson family matriarch will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her loving children: George (Arguster) Williams of Osceola, AR, Rickey (Vernita) Thompson of Osceola, AR, Randy (Angela) Thompson of Carrollton, VA, Naith (Sandra) Thompson of Jonesboro, AR, and daughter Mary Ann Cook of Osceola, AR. Her legacy continues through the lives of her many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Rachel now joins in Heaven her beloved husband, N.T. Thompson; three sons James Earl Jackson, Jerry Williams, Mickey Thompson; one daughter Gale Thompson; one brother Vernell Williams; and three sisters Erma Hawkins, Frankie Hill, and Katie Johnson, who all preceded her in the journey to eternal rest.

The family extends an invitation to friends and loved ones to attend the funeral service, which will be held in her honor on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, at 10:00 am at Pleasant Grove Community Church, 222 E. Semmes Ave, Osceola, AR 72370. Pastor Ed Richardson will officiate with grace and reverence.
