Melvin Steward Whitaker Brown, 52, passed away March 5, 2022 at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.  He was a factory worker and a member of Old Landmark M.B. Church.  Mr. Brown was born January 8, 1970 in West Memphis to Cornelius Whitaker Sr. and Flora Brown.  He is preceded in death by his father and one son Clarence Lee Brown.  He is survived by his mother Flora Brown of Trumann, his wife Lavern Brown of Sikeston, MO, one son Melvin Jermaine Brown Jr. of Sikeston, MO, one daughter Mary Ann Brown of Sikeston, MO, five brothers Tony Brown of West Memphis, Cornelius Whitaker Jr., James Whitaker and Ronnie Whitaker of Marion, Rodney Whitaker of Houston, TX, eleven sisters Patricia Brown, Taressa Brown and Shelando Meadows of Trumann, Rashal Freeman of Tallassee, AL, Doris Smith of Great Lake, IL, Thelma Rhodes of Kansas City, MO, Fannie Woodard of Chicago, Valarie Reel of West Memphis, Patricia Cunningham and Vanassa Whitaker of Marion and Linda Hill of Germantown, TN.  Visitation services will be Saturday March 19, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM with the funeral to follow at 2:00 PM at Greater Macedonia M.B. Church in Wilson with Pastor Byrant Whitted officiating.  Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola, AR is in charge of arrangements.
