John James Cook "Cooter", 85, of Osceola, passed away October 15, 2023 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born August 16, 1938 in Shelby, MS to James Martin and Virgie Beatrice Chapman Cook. Cooter was a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church in Caraway. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers David Wayne Cook, Leroy Cook, Charles "Dobber" Cook, Robert "Popeye" Cook and Paul Howard Cook, six sisters Cheryl Shepperson, Jo Marie Watson, Maggie Helen Russ, Georgie Beatrice Dalton, Gail Cook and Suzie Cox. He is survived by one brother Jimmy (Dorothy) Cook of Osceola, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 6-8 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. The funeral will be Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 1 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial will be at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola with Bro. Grady Johnson officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola, AR is in charge of arrangements.
