Jo Ed Pounders, 73, of West Plains, MO, passed away April 27, 2022 at NHC Healthcare in West Plains, MO.  She was an English teacher as well as journalism for 39 years at Rivercrest High School.  Ms. Pounders was born October 27, 1948 in Dyess to Edward and Maude Francis.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Paul Francis.  She is survived by one son Jason (Jillian) Pounders of Cabot, one daughter Haley Mitchell of West Plains, MO, five grandchildren Dawson, Stella, Wesley, Charlotte, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held Saturday May 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola, AR with Bro. Todd Vinson officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rivercrest Alumni Association.  Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola, AR is in charge of arrangements.
