James Richard Slaughter "Ricky", 70, of Blytheville, passed away October 9, 2022 at his home. He retired from Viskase after 25 years, he was a US Army veteran and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Slaughter was born February 16, 1952 in Ripley, TN to Arch Gilbert and Allie Pauline Cotton Slaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers Sam Slaughter, Leo Slaughter, William (Bill) Slaughter, Willis Slaughter, Everett Slaughter and Jessie Slaughter and one sister Francis Ballard. He is survived by two daughters Karie (John) Gibson of Lake City and Dianna (Clifton) Wiseman of Holly Springs, MS, four grandchildren Drake (Faith) Gibson, Kristin (Aaron) Meyer, Trevor Slaughter and Breanna Wiseman, five great grandchildren Brinley Gibson, Jace Bogle, Remi Bogle, Cache Gibson and Cooper Meyer. Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 10 AM - 12 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. There will be a cremation with burial at Bassett Cemetery in Bassett at a later date. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola, AR is in charge of arrangements.
